Privacy Policy and Funds Security

1. Nature of the Application

"Non-Custodial Wallet" Clause

CodexBox is a decentralized software interface (non-custodial wallet). We are not a bank, a financial institution, or a custodian. The application allows users to connect directly to the blockchain (Celo) to manage their own digital assets.

"No Control" Clause

At no time do CodexBox, its developers, or its servers have access to, hold, or control the user's funds (FCFA, cUSD, etc.).

2. Private Key Management and Security

"Private Keys and Seed Phrases" Clause

Your private keys and recovery phrases are generated and stored exclusively and locally on your mobile device. They are encrypted using the highest mobile security standards. CodexBox does not collect, transmit, or back up your keys on its servers.

"User Responsibility" Clause

The user is the sole owner and responsible for backing up their access keys. In the event of device loss or application uninstallation without prior backup, CodexBox has no technical means to restore the funds.

3. "Offline-First" Functionality

"Local Queuing" Clause

To ensure accessibility in low-connectivity areas, CodexBox uses a local queuing system. Transaction intents are cryptographically signed on the user's device in an isolated manner, and are only broadcast to the public network when the internet connection is restored.

4. Third-Party Protocol Integration

"Smart Contracts and Third-Party Services" Clause

The savings and yield-generating features offered in the application interact directly with autonomous decentralized finance protocols (e.g., HaloFi, Moola). CodexBox does not manage these yields. The user interacts with these smart contracts at their own risk.

"Network Fees (Gasless)" Clause

The application uses relayer technology to facilitate the payment of network transaction fees (Gas). This automated process grants CodexBox no rights, access, or control over the user's main transaction.

5. Data Collected for Operation

Camera

Camera access is requested solely to scan QR codes to facilitate the entry of destination addresses during a transfer. No images or videos are recorded or transmitted to our servers.

Notifications

We use local notifications to inform you of the success of a transaction, particularly following the restoration of your internet connection (offline mode).
